1. Check Admissions Requirements
With a 50% acceptance rate, FIU is considered a "selective" university – especially during the Fall semester. Don't panic, though: throughout the year, FIU admits many students to alternate pathways that put them in the best position to succeed.
We base our admissions on a sliding scale that takes GPA and test scores into account. While there isn't a "typical" FIU student, the following are average scores for students admitted during the 2016-2017 academic year:
GPA - 3.8 (weighted)
SAT - 1619
ACT – 24
