By being a Chi
Epsilon member, your academic achievements become more
recognizable and therefore more marketable. There are
other benefits that a Chi Epsilon member enjoys, as
follows.
Graduation
Chi
Epsilon members enjoy special recognition at the
graduation ceremony. Chi Epsilon graduating members
will be listed in the honor society section in the
commencement book. An honor's stole, embroidered with
"Chi Epsilon" and a medallion may be purchased through
the Honors Council. A form must be filled out by each
graduating member and filed to the Honors Council before
a deadline to enjoy these benefits. The form needs to
be signed by the President of the chapter as well as the
Faculty Advisor.
Deadline for turning in the form is
early
March for the spring graduation, and early November for
the all graduation. For the exact deadline date,

A Chi Epsilon stole and collar (purple or white colors)
may also be ordered through the national headquarters.

Networking
A large part of your success as a
Chi Epsilon member will be built on your professional
network in the civil engineering field. Working with
your fellow students through chapter activities and
meeting the Alumni members will give you a head start in
networking.
Personal Development
Extracurricular activities allow
you to develop character, leadership skills and
friendships. These attributes will be beneficial
throughout your entire life. By participating in
various projects, you will contribute to a better
learning environment at FIU and positively impact the
communities in Southeast Florida.
Travel
You will have the opportunity to
travel to other parts of the country by attending the
national conclaves or the region conclaves. This is an
excellent opportunity to meet your peers at other
universities and expand your network nationally.
