A Concert of Electroacoustic and Multimedia Works by Women Composers

Spotlighting female artists from all corners of the world, this concert will include works by Hideko Kawamoto, Alicyn Warren, Maggi Payne, Beatriz Ferreyra, and Kristine H. Burns. Fun, New, Campy, and Electric!

Movie: Forbidden Planet

The classic 1956 movie Forbidden Planet features the first ever all-electronic score, and one of the earliest film scores by a woman.
Composed by Bebe and Louis Barron, this pioneering score predates A Clockwork Orange, Tron and other sci-fi movies featuring electronic music.
The movie is based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, and stars Anne Francis, and Walter Pidgeon, and a very young Leslie Nielson.
