


The duty cycle is defined as the Time the source shows microvariability divided by the Total time observed. In other words, time on compared to the total operation time, times 100%. There have been different formulations of the "duty cycle" using various weightings, but we found that the most representative way of calculatingthe duty cycle is the straightforward way described above. The Figure below shows how one would calculate the duty cycle.
