DESCRIPTION: Miami Cerebral Palsy operates five residential facilities
and one Education Center for the developmentally disabled in the F.I.U.
area.
OPPORTUNITIES: An opportunity for students to hone their skills in a cutting
edge program for the developmentally disabled at state of the art facilities.
These include an Educational Center and various modern residential facilities.
Work with nurses, special educators, physical, occupational, and speech
therapists in the most up to date treatment modalities.
HOURS NEEDED: Residential Facilities: flexible scheduling available including
Saturday and Sundays from 10am - 6pm. Educational Center (located near
the FIU University Campus): Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm.
COMMENTS: Miami Cerebral Palsy provides a great opportunity to be exposed
to numerous occupations and therapies. Service-learners will the chance
to work with specialized adaptive equipment, computers, and technological

DESCRIPTION: Cares for children's health care needs from birth through
twenty-one years of age.
OPPORTUNITIES: Admissions, ambulatory care, book cart, childcare center,
child life, gift shop, etc.
HOURS NEEDED: Flexible
COMMENTS: Orientation provided. Minimum of three-month commitment.

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL - RADIO LOLLIPOP, 3100 SW 62 Avenue, Miami, FL

DESCRIPTION: Play diversion program that centers around an in-house radio
station. Provides evening entertainment and bedside visits to patients
at MCH.
OPPORTUNITIES: Volunteers needed to visit children at their bedside and
in the hospital's playroom. No radio experience needed.
COMMENTS: Minimum of six-month requirement is needed. Training provided.

DESCRIPTION: Provides educational services to adults and high school students
in the areas of basic education, school completion, and technical education
(computers, etc).
OPPORTUNITIES: Tutors/assistance in ESOL, reading, math, literacy, computers,
and English for speakers of other languages.
HOURS NEEDED: Monday - Thursday, 6pm - 9:30pm
COMMENTS: Students who work with the ESOL program must speak and write
English fluently. The best time to reach Mr. De Leon is between 2:40 -
10 pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9:40 am - 5 p.m. on Friday. If you miss him,
