DESCRIPTION: Composed of artifacts from many different cultures
in the world.
OPPORTUNITIES: Constructing a geology section of the museum, painting,
landscaping work, cleaning and painting, landscaping work, cleaning and
painting the archives.
HOURS NEEDED: Must call to set up a schedule.
COMMENTS: Get a first hand feel for history by volunteering at
the museum!
GREATER

DESCRIPTION: Tutor in math, reading, and language.
OPPORTUNITIES: Available through Miami-Dade County Personnel Department.
HOURS NEEDED: M-R, 7:30-9:30am and F, 1:00-3:00pm
COMMENTS: GMSC is in dire need of tutors to assist with literacy
development.
GUSMAN
CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, 174 East Flagler St. (Theater);

DESCRIPTION: Built in 1926, the historic Gusman Theater serves
the local multi-cultural community by presenting emerging local artists
and top super stars of the stage.
OPPORTUNITIES: Students are needed to help at the Box Office and
as ticket takers at theater entrance. Students are also needed as ushers
to help seat patrons.
HOURS NEEDED: Hours will depend on Gusman Center's event schedule
from Sept - June. Four hours per performance event and 15 hours per semester
minimum required. Students must report 1-½ hours before show time
and work until he/she has fulfilled the four-hour requirement.
COMMENTS: Call Page set up an orientation and training and to receive
a list of performance dates!
REQUIRED DRESS: Men: black shoes, black pants, black jacket and
black bow tie along with a white shirt. Women: black shoes, black bottom,
black jacket or sweater, and black bow or silk tie, w/ white blouse.
