Talent Search is a federally funded pre-college initiative that was born out of the 1965  Higher Education Act. It remains an important part of the Council for Opportunity in  Education’s  TRIO programs.

It serves young people in grades six through twelve. It provides academic support along with  counseling and post-secondary information. These students are from low-income households  and/or have parents who have not graduated from college (Please review table below for  income level). There are currently over 323, 000  students participating in 361 Talent Search  Programs nation wide.
