Our History
The
Miami Benefit Club was founded in 1999 when it became a
charitable fund at Dade Community Foundation. Our service
activities began with Community Partnership for Homeless,
Inc. and have expanded to the handful we do today. During
the summer of 2001 we initiated a partnership with The
College of Business Administration at FIU.
Our Partnership
Exploratory
discussions with FIU’s College of Business
Administration quickly developed into a partnership that
established an MBC molded student organization, whose name
would become The Miami Benefit Club at FIU. Its anchor
charity was and remains Community Partnership for Homeless.
Other numerous organizations have benefited from our
partnership and we are grateful to share time with all of
them.
Our Organization
Since the beginning of our partnership, and with the help
of numerous partners, we provided our community with over
5,000 hours of service. The club has regularly offered
students an option to participate in effective and
meaningful community service events throughout the
relationship and we continue to look forward to the
challenge of increasing our level of service at an
aggressive pace.
Our mission Statement is “to improve our community by
dedicating time and resources to those in need.” We
represent integrity, service and unity.
Our faculty advisor is Dr. Robert Hogner.
