EMPOWERMENT
To provide leadership and encouragement for students and faculty to realize
their potential to impact their community and effect social change through
the power of service-learning, issues advocacy, and volunteerism.
EDUCATION
To provide diverse opportunities for students to learn through a mix of
theory and practice, thought and action, and observation and interaction
while attaining their academic goals and serving community needs which have
real consequence, provide significant challenge, and promote intellectual,
spiritual, and moral development.
COMMUNITY BUILDING
To further utilize the minds, bodies, and resources of the FIU community
as central agents for civic peace, social justice, and community understanding
in the struggle to meet South Florida's cultural, economic, environmental,
