Students at FIU THEATRE discover their own unique artistic visions and develop the skills to make them a reality.

Members of our company study acting, design, theatre administration, set construction, directing, playwriting and more.

Students can pursue:

• a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performance

• a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design

• a Bachelor of Arts degree

The BFA degrees develop specialized artists.  The BA degree develops well-rounded artists in
all areas of theatre.  This three-track approach provides flexibility to meet the individual needs
of each student.

Our faculty of professional actors, directors, designers and playwrights bring years of experience to FIU THEATRE. The faculty members are:

• Active in theatres across the country

• Trained in a wide range of theatre disciplines and styles

• Winners of numerous awards for their work as educators and artists

Because of our low faculty-student ratio, instructors can nurture each young artist, as an individual, according to his or her needs.

For a program of our size, FIU THEATRE has an unusually high number of students admitted to prestigious graduate schools across the U.S. including Yale, Harvard, New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and University of California, San Diego.  Others have gone on to perform roles on Broadway in film and on television.
