The Office of International Student and Scholar Services on the Biscayne Bay Campus hosted its first annual International Photo Contest Reception on Friday, April 3 in the WUC Theater Lobby to exhibit the photos and announce the winners. The photo contest was created as an initiative to provide students at both BBC and UP the opportunity to display their artistic ability, and also to allow the viewer to ponder the world through a new lens. International students were able to portray a glimpse of their home countries, while study abroad students reflected on their experiences in a foreign country.

Some of the prizes included a two-night stay at the Doubletree Surf comber Hotel in Miami Beach and the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Miami, a gift certificate to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., and a Brunch for Two at the Rusty Pelican. The winners of the contest were Anne Braseby, Brett Smith, Heidi Smith, Mildred Diamond, Stacey Simmons, G. Nino Liguori, Paola Perez, and Nathan Delinois.
