The award recognizes outstanding contributions to NIRSA's Region II, made up of the southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean. Rob's most recent contribution to the Association was serving as the faculty chair for the NIRSA School of Recreational Sports Management. |

On December 9, 2008, The Division of Student Affairs hosted the 16th Annual Holiday Celebration for Children. One hundred children, along with their teachers and principals from schools throughout Miami-Dade County; attended. The purpose of this program is to create nurturing, personalized relationships between our female students and faculty, staff and alumnae. Start of Hurricane Season Serves as Reminder to Prepare
The Atlantic hurricane season officially began June 1 and goes until November 30. The Office of Emergency Management of the University is charged with planning for the potential threat of a hurricane, among other emergencies, which may impact the University. The mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to work to mitigate, plan and prepare for emergencies; educate the FIU community about preparedness; coordinate emergency response and recovery efforts and collect and disseminate critical information.
