» Start of Hurricane Season Serves as Reminder to Prepare
The Atlantic hurricane season officially began June 1 and goes until November 30.  The Office of Emergency Management of the University is charged with planning for the potential threat of a hurricane, among other emergencies, which may impact the University. The mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to work to mitigate, plan and prepare for emergencies; educate the FIU community about preparedness; coordinate emergency response and recovery efforts and collect and disseminate critical information. » Division to Gather for Conversation with Vice President Jones and Leadership Team
Dr. Rosa Jones and the Student Affairs Staff Development Committee invite all staff to attend “A Conversation with the Student Affairs Leadership Team.” The program will be held Friday, May 9 at 3pm in Graham Center 243. Approximately four hundred students and faculty members attended the 10th Dean’s List Gala on the University Park Campus March 3rd. The Disability Resource Center recently sponsored FIU’s first Florida Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Event on November 14th. As part of a state-wide initiative, the event was intended to educate participants about the prevention of spinal cord injuries, as well as to provide information to those who live with such injuries.
