Dr. Rosa Jones, Vice President for Student Affairs and Undergraduate Education

Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs. Our Division serves as an integral part of the education of students at Florida International University. Comprised of nearly 30 departments, the Division is involved in our students’ learning, both within and outside the classroom. We collaborate with many other departments within the University, particularly working with academic areas in a variety of successful partnerships.

National research confirms that students’ learning experience is enhanced through their engagement in out-of-class activities, and their meaningful interactions with faculty, staff, and peers. Through the numerous programs, services, and organizations offered within Student Affairs, any student can find opportunities to be involved at FIU, gain a valuable support system, develop leadership skills, and acquire experience that will be beneficial to their future career. Our many services also help support students’ academic success and ensure that their experience at FIU is both enjoyable and meaningful. Because we know that parents and family members play a significant role in supporting student success, we invite their involvement through our various Parent Programs.

Student Affairs is proud to be engaged in a partnership with the College of Education, supporting the growing success of our graduate program in Higher Education. Our Division hosts numerous graduate assistantships and several of our staff teach and advise students in the program. Through our involvement in teaching future professionals, and other professional development activities, we remain committed to enhancing the education of our staff as well.
