Welcome to the HDCI Lab at Florida International University

The Health Disparities and Cultural Identities (HDCI) Lab is housed in jointly the Department of Psychology
and African Diaspora Studies program at Florida International University. Our research brings attention to the ways in which psychological and socio-cultural factors affect the sexual health outcomes of racial/ ethnic minorities. Using interdisciplinary approaches, we seek to identifying the ways in which gender and racial/ ethnic identity shape cultural attitudes about sexuality with an ultimate goal of reducing health disparities.
