Sponsor Us           Engaging students in school spirit and pride to get involved in campus activities is one of the most important factors in retaining students until graduation.           The FIU Golden Stars Dance Squad is a program that addresses this issue. Through bi-weekly dance performances, the Golden Stars Dancers draw in crowds and therefore, more interest in the ongoing event. Performances range from University Events to Community Activities, where the dancers educate the audience in different styles of dance. The multicultural and international background of the dancers allows them to also perform various dances from overseas and encourage unity through dance. The Squad has performed at events such as the Florida Titans Half-Time Show, FIU Basketball Half-Time Shows, The Miami Children Foundation Business/Health Fair, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Forum, and the Miami Police Department’s Black History Month Celebration. In this upcoming year, the FIU Golden Stars Dance Squad hopes to participate in local, state, and national competitions.                                                                                                                                   The FIU Golden Stars Dance Squad is open to 30 students, both male and female, from Florida International University as a fall and spring semester activity. Dancers are typically students trained in dance, gymnastics, and/or cheerleading that have expressed an interest in the program. Once on the squad, dancers perform African dances, Jazz, Salsa, Soca, Reggae, Hip-Hop, and much more.           We would like to request your assistance in providing this opportunity to the students of Florida International University. Your sponsorship would be greatly appreciated and used towards the purchasing of uniforms with better quality, kneepads for safety, and other accessories for one (1) dancer.
