Greetings, and welcome to the Society of Physics Students FIU homepage. The links in the left frame will take you to the different parts of our website. If at any time you want to come back to the main page, just click on the main banner. (Be sure to check out our expanded Links section!)
SPS is an organization designed especially for students. Although most of us are physics majors, you
do not have to be a physics major to join. The only pre-requisite is an interest in physics. Here is
a partial list of some of the things we do:
- We meet every other Wednesday in the physics conference room.
(CP 220) At the meetings we either have a speaker giving an informal talk or
sometimes we use the time for the students to get acquanited with each
other.
- We help the astronomers (Dr. Webb, Dr. Simpson, and Dr. Van
Hamme) with their public outreach lectures given on certain Fridays. Click here for the
Schedule This includes star parties that are organized in the
beginning and end of every semester.
- In the past, we have gone on field trips
including seeing shuttle launches.
