Personal Philosophy of Education
I have always seen education as the only profession that develops our future.  The students we interact with on a daily basis are our future leaders and productive members of society.  As an educator, I look at every situation with the question, "How would I deal with this if it was my child?"  All parents want to see their children have a better life than they did, and as educators we need to insist that all students perform to the best of their abilities.  As an administrator, I believe I am in a position to assist other educators grow professionally so that they can service their students better.  In the multicultural educational/urban system that we are in there are many societal issues that effect what occurs in schools, but I am a true believer that we can make a difference one student, one educator and one school at time.  The bottom line is never give up!
Future Professional Goals
I would love to develop a new teacher preparation program that provides pre-service teachers with more real hands on experiences.  I believe we need a stronger bond between the school and the university, and ultimately a win-win situation for all involved.
