Miriam Potocky-Tripodi, Associate Professor

Dr. Potocky-Tripodi earned a Ph.D. and an M.S.W. from the University of Kansas. Dr. Potocky-Tripodi’s research interests are in the areas of multicultural and international social work, with a specific focus on refugee issues.   She is currently completing a book, Social Work Practice with Refugees and Immigrants: Empirically Based Approaches, to be published by Columbia University Press.  She has also written on research methodology.  She co-edited two recent books, Social Work Research with Minority and Oppressed Populations (Haworth Press, 1998) and New Directions for Social Work Practice Research (NASW Press, 1999). She is founding co-editor of a new journal, The Journal of Social Work Research and Evaluation: An International Publication.  Dr. Potocky-Tripodi teaches research methodology in the B.S.W., M.S.W., and Ph.D. programs.
