Our renowned facilities offer you personal studio space, lab facilities, and classes with small student to faculty ratios. Our personalized instruction serves our diverse student body by creating a uniquely supportive educational environment. As a member of the School of Architecture, the Interior Design Department participates in a distinct program of pioneering education. This stimulating setting encourages our students, graduates, and faculty to be intellectually involved in the field of interior design and critically oriented toward its role in society. Highly respected among Miami’s design community, our graduates are known to be creative, self-motivators, critical thinkers, who are detail-oriented and thorough. We believe people who possess these qualities plus, have a professional attitude, and a sense of accountability are able to make the most significant contributions to the community at local, academic, professional, and global levels.

Among the nation's 25 largest universities, FIU is ranked as a Research University in the High Research Activity category of the Carnegie Foundation’s prestigious classification system. FIU’s Interior Design Department offers a Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) accredited Bachelor of Interior Design degree. At the graduate level we offer two degree tracks: the Master of Interior Design degree, and the Master of Arts in Interior Design. The Master of Interior design is a professional degree designed to lead people who have baccalaureate degrees in other fields into the interior design profession. The Master of Arts degree is a post-professional degree designed to lead people who already possess an interior design degree deeper into research and specialization with in the field.
