Getting Certified
To become a skydiver, you must go through one of the following courses:
Tandem IAF (Instructor Assisted Free-Fall) Course:
The students jump three times with an instructor strapped to their back (tandem),
and six times with your own parachute, after the half-day ground school. Instructors
will assist during free-fall. This is the course most recommended by the club.
1 Tandem and AFF (Accelerated Free-Fall) Course:
The students jump once with an instructor strapped to their back, and seven times
with their own parachute, after the ground school. Instructors will assist during free-fall.
Straight AFF Course:
The students jump with their own parachute from the very beginning, after going through
the half-day ground school. The course consists of seven jumps.
After the course is completed:
Once students finish their course, they are cleared to jump by themselves. However,
the students must now accumulate jumps to get their United States Parachute Association
license, which will allow them to jump all over the country and world.
