2002:  Ph. D. in Biology (Ecology):  Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA. (Dissertation: Vegetation Dynamics and Their Implications for the Management of Wetlands in the Lowlands of Nepal).

 

1993:  M. Sc. in Natural Resource Management: Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. (Thesis: Wetland Vegetation and Its Management: A Case Study in Koshi Tappu Region, Nepal).

 

1983:  M. Sc. in Botany (specialization in Ecology): Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. (Thesis: Nutrient Content in Leaf Litter of Major Tree Species at Phulchoki Hill, Kathmandu, Nepal).



Professional Experience:

2002 – Present: Postdoctoral Research Associate.  Southeast Environmental Research Center, Florida International University, Miami, FL. Design study, conduct fieldworks and analyze data for the study on Vegetation-environment relationships in the habitat of Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow.

2000 – 2002: Teaching/Research Associate. Department of Biological Sciences and Southeast Environmental Research Center, Florida International University, Miami, FL. Teach undergraduate biological labs. Aanalyze data for the research projects in Shark Slough marshes and tree islands, Coastal mangroves and Lower Keys pine rocklands.

 

1998 – 1999: Lecturer. Central Department of Botany, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. Teach graduate courses in ecology.  Supervise M. Sc. students’ thesis.

 

1995 – 1997: Teaching Associate. Department of Biological Sciences, Florida International University, Miami, FL. Teach undergraduate biology labs.
