Educational Presentations
We are available to present on topics such as ethics and community responsibility, conflict resolution and the student code of conduct process. Our ethics presentation is particularly popular in the First Year Experience classes. Please complete a Presentation Request Form or contact our office at 305-348-3939 or via email at radillot@fiu.edu in order to schedule a presentation for your class, student group or department.
Below is a list of typical presentations along with a short description about them:
"The Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution"
This is a general program designed to give students a full perspective of our office. This lecture type presentation focuses in our office and the services we provide.
"Ethics and Community Responsibility"
This presentation is well liked by students, faculty and staff. This presentation deals with issues of ethical decision making and ethical dilemmas. After a discussion regarding values and ethics students will have an opportunity to respond to a series of ethical situations.
"Conflict Resolution"
This presentation is designed to help build the necessary skills used to manage and resolve conflict. Participants complete an exercise to identify how they handle conflict and process different scenarios.
"Hazing"
This presentation is designed to provides an overview of the FIU policy regarding hazing and state law. The program will define what activities are considered to be hazing and discuss how to use alternative activities to build a team. Hazing activities are not limited to Greek letter organizations and have been associated with athletic teams and other clubs and organizations.
"Sportsmanship"
This presentation focuses on decision making from the perspective of an athlete, athletic team or intramural /recreation participant/team.
