Initial value problems of the first order, numerical solutions, systems of differential equations, linear differential equations, Laplace transforms, series solutions.

    Tests and quizzes:

  • There will be one midterm, worth 100 points. The date is 07/09/2009.
  • Second Exam: A mandatory second exam will carry 150 points. The date is 08/06/2009.
  • Quizzes: Two (2) 30 minute-quizzes; Dates: July 02 and July 23. Each is worth 25 points.
  • There are no make-up exams or quizzes. With a valid, verifiable reason for missing an exam, a waiver may be granted for the missed test. The second exam cannot be waived. An incomplete grade may be assigned upon presentation of a valid, verifiable reason for missing the scheduled test. The second exam should be taken during the final week of Fall 2009.

    Grades: Grades will be assigned on the basis of 300 points.
