Preamble:

We, the members of the Pakistani Student's Association (PSA), hereby associate ourselves to this organization in order to spread the culture of Pakistan throughout the campus of FIU; accustom ourselves with the tradition Pakistan holds; open a window for non-Pakistanis to understand and appreciate the culture of Pakistan; give FIU a  dedicated and passionate organization.

 

 

Article I: Name

The name of this organization will be Pakistani Student's Association at Florida International University.

 

 

Article II: Membership

Section A: The membership of this organization shall be open to all FIU students, staff, administrators, and alumni who unite to promote their common interests.

Section B: Membership is also open to people outside FIU until they don't come into conflict with the 50/50 policy. This clearly states that 50% of the members must be FIU students.

Section C: Membership is open to everyone. There is no differentiation between races in this organization.

Section D: There is no charge for becoming a member in this organization.

 

Article III: Executive Board Officers

The officers of the organization will be: (In order of rank) Advisor, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Events Coordinator.

President

Organizes and leads meetings (including keeping meetings on topic); delegates and supervises tasks to others on committees; approves PSA events; motivates others on committee as well as volunteers; settles disputes within committee when/if multiple points of view exist; public face of PSA as/when required; work with future PSA committee in getting all PSA assets.

Vice President

Assists the President in all activities and decisions. Will be delegated many tasks by President as required, including supervising tasks delegated to others on committee and volunteers; lead meetings if/when President is not available; take over President position if President pre-disposed or otherwise unavailable for long periods of times; motivates others on committe as well as volunteers.

Secretary

Assists the President with organizing meetings and gatherings. Takes notes on agendas, decisions, and task assignments; assists President and Vice President with all duties as delegated; shall be the person responsible for PSA email list and making announcements.

Treasurer

All PSA expenses shall be cleared by treasurer before approval. Will have to keep track of account transactions; work with previous PSA treasurer to get all assets; pursue grants and funds from FIU sources.

 

Events Coordinator

Organizes, prepares event budget,  and proposes potential PSA events; organizes and delegates tasks (including supervising roles) to committee members and volunteers for approved PSA events.

SOC Representative

Attends all SOC meetings, checks mailbox, submits SOC forms and keeps track of all SOC activities.

Student Advisor

Works along with the President, making sure everything is in order. Guides the new President with all the necessary information. Overlooks the club with all its activities. Note: This position may ONLY be filled by the leaving President.

 

Article IV: Elections

Section A: Anyone enrolled in an FIU program will be eligible to be a candidate for office.

Section B: The officers for executive board (excluding the advisor) will be chosen through an election which will take place every year.

Section C: Elections will take place at the end of every Spring Semester.

Section D: The advisor can be changed if he/she does not fulfill his/her duty. The change can only be done, if the majority of the E-board agrees to change. 

Section E: Only those members may run for office who have been active throughout the year.  ONLY current executive board members may run for the President position.

Section F: Only those members may vote who have been active throughout the year. Note: Student ID is REQUIRED, if voting.
