14.90 THE ART MUSEUM ADVISORY COUNCIL

PURPOSE:
To establish an Advisory Committee Board for the Art Museum

AUTHORITY/SOURCE:
Provost, 14.70, 14.40, 14.30, 14.10

POLICY:
To encourage support and input from the University community as well as the community at large in regards to the Museum's mission. The Advisory committee meets on a regular basis to approve acquisitions and deaccessions to The Art Museum collections.

University personnel are appointed to the board for the duration of their tenure. Other representatives are appointed by the Provost for a period of three years which begins at the beginning of the academic year.

Provost
Director of The Art Museum
Assistant Director of The Art Museum
Chair of the Visual Art Department
Director of the Dade county Public Schools Art Education
Vice President for Development

Community Representatives
 Two (2) representatives of the Development Council of the Friends of The Art Museum
Two (2) representatives of the University Foundation Board
Two (2) local collectors
One (1) Civic leader

The community representatives positions rotate every three (3) years.
