Summer
2008
Dear
Medical School/Dental School Applicants (for 2009!):
There are a few of you
who are planning to have a Committee interview at FIU early
this spring. To do so you need to have a completed
file. This includes: Instructor Evaluations (a
minimum of 4 in the sciences, plus 2 additional evaluations in
any area; these must be from full-time permanent faculty at
FIU); Your AMCA/ADA application material (you may not
have submitted it but we will want what you intend to submit);
any letters of recommendation you plan to have as part of your
file (typically 2 from science faculty and 1 from a faculty
member who is from another discipline); your fully completed
personal history questionnaire; your personal statement essay
(this is part of the application to medical or dental school)
and your qualifying MCAT or DAT score.
I will schedule interviews on a
first-come first-served basis but only after the file is
complete and checked! So, it is important for you to
finish all of the above as soon as possible and schedule an
appointment with me to make arrangements if this applies to
you.
No
Committee Interviews will be scheduled with less than a 2 WEEK
notice to the participating faculty members! Letters from the
Committee can not be processed and submitted on you behalf any
faster than one week following an interview (and occasionally
a longer delay may occur). Please keep this in mind when
making your plans. Many people have volunteered their
time to make these interviews possible and they deserve your
gratitude and understanding.
P.S. Please Share this information
with your colleagues to ensure that everyone who may be
affected is fully informed.
