A former editor with over 20 years’ experience in creative and professional writing and editing. Currently, promoting and supporting student writing at the university’s Center for Excellence in Writing. Teaches writing for Political Science (and English), including POS 5785, Writing in the Profession, the advanced writing class required for the Jack D. Gordon Institute’s certificate in National Security Studies. Research interests include African American literature and literary and linguistic representations of the creole language, Gullah in literature.
