Dario Moreno is an associate professor of political science at Florida International University. He is also the director of The Metropolitan Center. His areas of specialization are Cuban-American politics and U.S.-Latin American relations. Professor Moreno has published two books on U.S. Policy in Central America: U.S. Policy in Central America: The Endless Debate (University Press of Florida, 1990) and The Struggle for Peace in Central America (University Press of Florida, 1994). Professor Moreno has also written numerous articles and book chapters on Cuban-American politics in Miami. He has served as an expert witness on three Voting Rights Cases in Florida: DeGrandy v. Wetherall, Diaz vs. Miami Beach, and Suarez v. Dade School Board. Professor Moreno was a Fulbright Scholar in Costa Rica in 1990 and a Pew Scholar at the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard in 1992. His is currently the Vice Chairman for the "One Nation" citizenship drive in Dade County, Florida. He is currently working on a book on Cuban-Politics in Miami with Christopher Warren.
