| The members of Pi Kappa Phi at Florida
International University do not just claim to be men of C.L.A.S.S. -- they
define it. The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi have shown that C.L.A.S.S. is not
just a recruitment tactic, but a way of life. While others try to
achieve it, the Pi Kapps at FIU live it.
Character
Men of character are men who possess a
high level of respect and integrity not only for themselves, but also for
those around them. We want someone who is confident in what he believes
and has the courage to stand up for those beliefs. Every member of Pi Kappa
Phi is expected to:
-Not Tolerate Hazing in any form
-Exhibit Ultimate Respect for each individual member
-Act Responsibly in every situation
-Be Confident in what he believes and have the courage
to stand up for his convictions in every situation.
Leadership
We are looking for men who are leaders
not only within the chapter but on campus as well. We know that there are
many negative stigmas attached to Greek life. We want men who are constantly
breaking down these negative stereotypes and bringing a positive light
to the Greek community as a whole. Here at FIU, brothers of Pi Kappa Phi
have established themselves as leaders in Homecoming, the Student Government
Association, Peer Advising, Dance Marathon, Residential Life, and much
more.
Academics
We are looking for men who strive for
academic success. We believe in this to such a degree that Pi Kappa Phi
pays an Academic Coach in order to ensure that we are providing every opportunity
for Pi Kapps to succeed academically. College is supposed to be the "best
years of your life" -- why not stick around to enjoy them?
Sportsmanship
Pi Kappa Phi is looking for men who celebrate
the spirit of sportsmanship. We feel that the spirit of competition in
an athletic environment helps produce teamwork, sportsmanship, and selfless
contribution. These are skills and traits needed to become a better student,
leader, citizen, and fraternity man.
Service
Lastly, Pi Kappa Phi is seeking men with
a heart for service. As a national social fraternity, we pride ourselves
on being the only national fraternal organization to have founded, developed
and maintained its own national philanthropy -- Push America. Nationally,
Pi Kappa Phi raises money and awareness for persons with disabilities through
events such as Gear-Up Florida and The Journey of Hope. Locally, the brothers
of Pi Kappa Phi hold events promoting fundraising, volunteerism, and awareness
to help get our message across. We seek men who will take full advantage
of these opportunities to better themselves and those around them.
