Core Collections
The core collections are designed as a collection development tool for librarians interested in starting or expanding an anime collection. Though a few of the lists are long, but they should not be considered as comprehensive. The lists are only a starting point, and a way of assessing the progress in a given collection.
Collections are broken down by age and subject. Unlike American cartoons, even anime created for children has material that many parents and librarians would consider inappropriate. The lists reflect this with a larger selection of materials for high school and adult age groups.
