Three major
sets of information form the basis for program review:
1) Department Planning
Indicators: These department level data have been
annually collected and distributed by the Office of Institutional
Research. This report contains a comprehensive set of information
about the department, especially enrollment data, and faculty
resources. http://www.fiu.edu/~opie/spdi.htm
2) Program Review Measures: Quantitative items
on an array of program characteristics facilitate measurement
and performance comparisons with previous years and established
goals, for example, three year trends for headcount enrollments,
contract and grant funding, degrees granted, and retention.
Programs in the development of their Self-Study document
should incorporate these into their text. The table titled "Program
Measures, Outcomes and Data Sources" lists these
items. http://www.fiu.edu/provost/aaproreview/prmeasures.htm A
more selective set of data is presented as common slides
at the Program Review Forum: http://www.fiu.edu/provost/aaproreview/prforums.htm
3) Unit Institutional Effectiveness Learning Outcomes: Institutional
Effectiveness matrices/student learning outcomes are completed annually by
the Department. Past years are available in the Dean's offices and from the
Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness. http://www.fiu.edu/~insteff/surveys/home.htm
4) Academic Learning Compacts
