Entrance Requirements

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROGRAM IS NOT ACCEPTING APPLICANTS AT THIS TIME

Admission in to the Performing Arts Management graduate program is by interview process only. The graduate candidate should meet the following criteria in order to be considered.
Admission to Full Graduate Academic Standing – This status is achieved if all of the following criteria have been met:
Apply to University Graduate School (UGS) at www.fiu.edu/ugs
Apply to the School of Music at www.fiu.edu/~music
Send resume with professional statement to the School of Music
Send three (3) letters of recommendation from past professor, instructors, employers, etc. to the School of Music
Required interview with Performing Arts Management Program Director
GPA of 3.0 or higher on the last sixty (60) credits of undergraduate upper division
International students must receive a score of 550 (paper) or 213 (computer) or higher on the TOEFL
Admission to Provisional Graduate Academic Standing – This status is achieved if all of the following criteria have been met:
All of the above for Admission to Full Graduate Academic Standing
If undergraduate GPA is not 3.0 or higher then you have the option to either:
Take the GRE and score 1000 or higher

Be admitted provisionally and obtain a 3.25 GPA on the first semester in the Performing Arts Management Graduate Program

Students with full graduate academic standing upon completion of the application process will receive letters under separate cover from both the University Graduate School and the School of Music. The student must be accepted by BOTH the University Graduate School and the School of Music in order to be able to register for courses in the School of Music and the Performing Arts Management Graduate Program.

Academic Standing Upon Admittance


Minimum GPA of 3.0 on all program course requirements
Transfer credits – The only course(s) allowed to be transferred in order to count for graduation are upper level undergraduate division for the Business of Music course for students with a BFA, BM or BA, and adequate course level in accounting for students with an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree.
