The FIU Jazz Performance program is one of the top programs in the USA. Degrees are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Degrees are available for Jazz Performance as well as Music Education with an emphasis in Jazz Performance. Graduates of the FIU Jazz Performance program are having great success as performers and educators.

Artists who have performed regularly with the various FIU Jazz groups include such well-known names as Arturo Sandoval, David Sanborn, Louie Bellson, Eddie Daniels, Nestor Torres, Tito Puente, Paquito D'Rivera, Dr. Billy Taylor, Bill Watrous, Marvin Stamm, Don Menza, Ira Sullivan, Clark Terry, Nat Adderly, John Fedchock, Antonio Hart, Maria Schneider, Gary Campbell, Mike Orta, Art Sares, Jonathan Joseph, Dennis Marks, Nicky Orta and Jason Carder. The award-winning FIU Intergenerational Masters Program brings many older jazz musicians to campus for clinics and concerts.
