Auditions for 2009-2010
In order to be admitted to the FIU School of Music, you must first be admitted to the university and then successfully audition for the School of Music. Admission to the university is very selective and you are urged to submit your application as early as possible.
Music auditions for the 2009/2010 academic year will take place on the following dates:
Saturday, November 22, 2008 (for January, 2009, admission).
Saturday, February 7, 2009
Saturday, March 7, 2009 (last day for scholarship consideration).
Saturday, April 4, 2009
All auditions will start at 9:00 am

Personal auditions are preferred. In cases where geographic distance makes a live audition impossible, cassette or CD auditions may be submitted. All auditions should include the head and at least one chorus of improvisations of each of the following:
- one medium or uptempo jazz standard
- one jazz standard ballad
- one free selection that contrasts the above two (latin, fusion, etc.)
- sightreading as requested
- scales as requested
