choral and vocal faculty curriculum audition information other

The curriculum emphasizes both solo and ensemble performance. Solo opportunities include the weekly Vocal Forums, Recitals, the FIU Opera Theater and solos with the FIU Choral ensembles . In addition to their weekly lessons, FIU voice majors receive regular coaching on their repertoire from a staff of professionally experienced accompanists. Voice majors also receive intensive training in Phonetics for Singers, Vocal Pedagogy, and Vocal Literature. These courses, together with a comprehensive music curriculum, are designed to train singers to meet the challenges of a professional musician well into the 21st century.
