Procedures for Admission
for International Students
1. Fill out the student application. The last day for international students to apply for Spring term (January) is August; for Summer term (May) is January; and for the Fall term (August) is April. Also, a separate School of Music Application must be filled out.2. A minimum of 500 is required on the TOEFL test (English equivalency) for admission into the university (TOEFL score of 550 required for graduate admission.) 3. In addition, Freshman are required to have a 950 score on the SAT (Scholastic Achievement Test) for admission into the university. Transfer students with less than 60 credits must qualify for admission as Freshman, 950 SAT score; over 60 no tests other than TOEFL. Graduate students must earn a 1000 on the GRE test (Graduate Record Exam). 4. A bank statement directly from the bank of the parents or a qualified sponsor for $16, 400 must be sent to the Admissions Office before final admission can be approved. Scholarships and tuition waivers may be deducted from this account. 5. High school or college transcripts must be sent from all schools listed on the application to Admissions. 6. All students under the age of 40 are required to submit documentation of Immunization for Measles (two shots) and Rubella to the Student Health Center. 7. Tuition and fees are per credit hour and are subject to change. Tuition for international students is $290.53 for Undergraduates, and $481.64 for Graduate students (for August 1999). Additional fees include $10.00 for an Athletic fee, and $36.00 for Health fee. Parking fees for decals are required to park automobiles on campus. 8. Medical insurance is required to be purchased on campus and is $571 a year or $288 a semester. 9. Audition dates for admission into the School of Music are held in November, January, March, April and May. Tapes are accepted in lieu of an in-person audition. Students are expected to perform at least two pieces from the masterworks of literature in this field. Studies, scales and arpeggios are also required. An I-20 form is sent to  the embassy of your country when all the above have been completed. 10. Mail all information to:
