RIA Checkpoint - Semester Long Student Accounts

Before using RIA Checkpoint, you must activate your Panther Card with the Library.

To register for a course-related semester long account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Library home page (http://library.fiu.edu/)
  2. If you are not on campus, activate the proxy by clicking on "Connect from Home" and following the instructions.
  3. Click on "Find Articles & Do Research";
  4. Under "Business", click on "Accounting";
  5. Beside RIA Checkpoint, click on link "Register for a student course-related account".  (See illustration below.)
  6. Click check-box for RIA license (pop-up window); read and accept.
  7. Fill out the basic information required by the RIA Checkpoint registration; please use your FIU email account for the registration.
  8. You will receive by email confirmation and further information on how to use your account, which is good for the rest of the half-year period.

Please note:  Trying to shorten this process by typing the URLs after activating the proxy (Connect from Home) actually de-activates the proxy and will cause a failure.
