The idea here, not very well done, is to provide a top and left border to the text herein inscribed. I originally tried, using a corner square, but that left a blank line between the corner and the vertical. This looks better, minus the corner square.
If you look very carefully, you will notice that the background tiled design is visible inside the lines of the border designs.
