Compustat;   Research Insight via Standard & Poors	Current	A huge database of financial data, company reports, performance graphs, and textual documents.  There are 2 methods of accessing this database:  1)Use the College of Business Administrations' WRDS system.  (Accounts are available to FIU students and faculty by contacting Prof. Clark Wheatley.)  The Library subscribes to the more complex Research Insight database system.  Contact the Business Librarian, Steve Morris (348-3134) to discuss access to this system.
Encyclopedia of Business and Finance (or, via Gale Virtual Reference Library if you are off campus.)	2007	"Designed for the nonspecialist, the Encyclopedia of Business and Finance is a 2-vol. complete reference covering five general areas: finance and banking; accounting; marketing; management; and information systems. Virtual International Business and Economics Sources via UNC-Charlotte Library	(check url date)	Provides links to selected sources of international business information on the internet, mainly through free sites.
Internet Sources for U. S. Corporate, Industrial, and Economic Information via UNC-Charlotte Library	(check url date)	Another collection of sites from UNCC, oriented toward business in the United States.
Global Edge Resource Desk via MSU Center for International Business Education and Research	(check url date)	Provides links to selected sources of international business information on the internet, mainly through free sites.
Corporate Information via Wright Investors Services	(check url date)	Not only does this commercial site provide links to international corporate information, including state by state goverment records in the U.S., but also such things as property records that are online. It has access to definitions of corporation abreviations (inc., GmbH, etc.) and to news articles and a currency exchange rate calculator. You may search by company, country, or industry. This site provides a very broad source of business information.

LiveEDGAR via Thomson Wests/GSI	Current	A comprehensive collection of content that ranges from a listing of SEC filings dating back to 1967 (including all EDGAR filings), Annual Reports to Shareholders from 33,00 companies in 115 countries, complete SEDAR filings (Canada), and No-Action letters as early as 1971.  Also has information on mergers & acquisitions, registrations, and prospectuses since 1996.  Additional libraries include a comprehensive SEC library as well as a company news, quotes, & financials database.
Mergent Online via Mergent Online	1994-present	Corporate reports on 20,000+ U.S. & international corporations plus financial search engine.

LLRX: Locating Company Information on the Internet via LLRX	(check url date)	Organized by broad categories, provides links to a multitude sources of corporate information, including government, corporate, and other providers of information.  Includes links to other "webliographies."  Originally published in 1999, this page appears to have been updated, but the currency of revision is not stated.
Mergent Online via Mergent Online	1994-present	Annual reports of 20,000+ U.S. & international corporations plus access to SEC filings and a financial search engine.
Corporate Analyses & Comparative Data:
Bankruptcies; SDC Platinum via UP - ERC	1980 - 1988, limited; 1988 - present, full	Based on SEC documents, bankruptcy court filings, reorganization plans, and news sources, provides data searchable by various factors, from company name to creditors, securities, financial profile, etc. Includes U.S. companies with assets of $1million (1980-88) or, after 1988, public with $10 million or private with $50 million in assets. Available through computers near windows in ERC (Green Library, 2nd floor).

Global Market Information Database (GMID) via Euromonitor	Current	This very large database includes both analytical reports and statistical data, especially about consumer markets.  In addition to data presentations, provides search capabilities for country, consumer, industry, and major transnational corporation information and reports.
Investext Plus via Galenet	Current 3 years	Provides hundreds of investment house reports on companies and industries.
Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage via Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage	Dates vary	Full text of 12 Standard & Poor's investment publications covering managment, corporation data, industry data, mutual funds, and investment analysis.
Value Line Investment Survey via ValueLine	2004 - present microfiche available 1980 -  last quarter	Contains investment reports on companies and industries, with evaluations and recommendations.  Each industry and the component companies are analyzed once a quarter, although many of the auxiliary tables are updated for each company weekly.
Wall Street Journal via ProQuest	1986-present	Contains citations, abstracts, and full-text articles from the Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Transcript via TWST: The Wall Street Transcript	July, 1997-date	Provides transcripts of investment-related roundtables and CEO presentations.
Worldwide Mergers & Acquisitions via SDC Platinum*	US: 1979-last year; Intl: 1985-last year	An analytical database covering the data on both public and private transactions involving at least 5% of the company value (prior to 1993, value must => $1mm.)  Transactions include, mergers, acquistions, LBOs, stake purchases, tender offers, stock swaps, privatizations, spinoffs, etc.  Searchable data factors includes over 1,400 data elements.    *Available ONLY through computers near windows in ERC.*, second floor, Green Library.  An instruction guide is available:  Worldwide Mergers & Acquisitions Instructions.     This is a CD database run on the Library's LAN.

Big Book via Verizon	Current	A commercial directory and search engine of the online Yellow Pages, with options to search by keyword, business name, or location.  Page offers other services, including mapping and directions.
IQS Manufacturers Directory via IQS	Current	Industrial Quick Search is a directory of manufacturers organized by product.  Once the user clicks on a product, the next page lists various companies with links to the companies' websites and descriptions of their specific products.  At the bottom of each product page is a generic description of the product and how it works, followed by further information (such as types and categories), and then a glossary of common terms used in that industry with their definitions.  Front page of IQS has a "Request for quote" option.        caaiab
ThomasNet Thomas Register of American Manufacturers Green Library RRF T12.T6	Current	A major directory of American and Canadian manufacturing companies, with selected catalogs/links available.  Products are arranged by noun then any adjective--for instance, look under "Pipe, plastic" not "Plastic pipe."  The commercial web site is a directory of manufacturers and other companies, plus a number of other services, especially for CAD, architectural materials based on blueprints, and a link to a global version.  The main directory can be searched by individual states and provinces or by all (combined U.S. and Canada.)  The "green books" were well-known and required source for purchasers for decades, now available online.  Note:  Has a plugin to enhance searching for Firefox browsers.
