- From January 1 to December 31, 2008, the site received 160,501 visits and innumerable electronic messages with comments, corrections, and additional information, both textual and pictorial. The counter records only the initial visit to the site and not the ones to other sections in the same occasion. During the year, the biographical entries of the cardinals created between 1118 and 1278 were added to the site. The year 2008 marked two important landmarks for the cardinals' site: on July 21, the number of visitors since January 1, 2002, reached one million; and on October 16, the site turned ten years old, thus becoming one of the oldest of its class in the internet (interestingly, on July 7, "Google" also turned ten years old). The interest in the site is a source of profound gratitude and a strong motivation to continue developing and improving it. Thank you!
