Description of the Course
PHY 5347 is the second half of a graduate level course on classical
electromagnetic theory. It covers the topics of electromagnetic waves in
bounded regions, electromagnetic radiation, scattering and diffraction, the
relavistic formulation of electromagnetism, and electromagnetic processes
involving relativistic particles.
Prerequesites
- Advanced Electromagnetic Theory I (PHY 5346 or equivalent)
- Vector Calculus and Differential Equations
- Intermediate Level Mechanics
- Undergraduate Quantum Mechanics
