It is my very great pleasure to announce that Mari Loli Obregon, Senior Word Processing Operator in UP Reference, is our Employee of the Month for October.

Mari Loli manages to juggle the service requests of many individuals, somehow both meeting their needs and leaving them with the impression that theirs is the most important task before her.

Through taking advantage of CE opportunities and self­education, Mari Loli has, according to her supervisor, become one of the most expert users of office automation in the library. She is expert in both IBM and MacIntosh and in the use of many programs from spreadsheet to graphics. She generously shares her skills with others, patiently finding time to teach staff from other departments who come to her for help.

I know that we all appreciate her support, discretion, and gentle harmonizing personality. As Patty Iannuzzi notes, she is truly someone who gets on with everyone ­­ and is perceived by all to be helpful, courteous, and responsive to the needs of others.

We are indeed lucky to have her.
