It gives me pleasure to announce that our Employee of the Month for April is Addy Martinez.
Addy started working as a student assistant of the Audiovisual Library in 1982. In February of 1987, she was appointed a member of the USPS staff in the same department.
She holds the Bachelor's Degree in Spanish; a Certificate in Translation Studies; and is currently pursuing the Master's in Hispanic Studies at FIU, a degree she expects to receive during the 1995/96 Academic Year.
You are probably aware that she is an individual who goes the extra mile to serve library patrons. You may not know of her interest in cinema' and that she has been an effective introducer of films for our Cinema Wednesday series for some time.
Addy brings to her job not only a caring attitude for those who approach her in her service capacity, and the willingness to help the patron see beyond his or her immediate request and need; she is helpful and friendly with her coworkers, and shows initiative and dependability in her job.
I know you will join me in extending to her congratulations for this recognition.
