MEMORANDUM

RE:   Charge.

The charge for this committee is a general one.  The committee is
to develop a draft design for the FIU Libraries' web interface, and
draft policies and procedures relating to that interface for
recommendation to the Systems Group including the Director,
University Libraries.  The Web Committee will want to review the
policies and procedures set up for the library presence on the FIU
Gopher, Freenet, and LUIS information screens for possible use or
adaptation in relation to the web interface.

The draft design recommended is to include the basic functioning of
the interface and the resources to be initially accessible through
it.  

The committee is requested to make its recommendation to the
Systems Group by September 1, 1995.

The committee chair is requested to consult with the Director,
University Libraries concerning additional resources that need to
be brought to this effort.  It is expected that the work of the
committee will involve consultation with IRM, and with other
departments as necessary on such items as the design of icons.
