Merit and Evaluation Committee Minutes October 27, 1998 In attendance: Dr. Miller, Toni Downs, Mirtha Hernandez, Nancy Hershoff, Patty Iannuzzi, John Radencich, Elaine Winske The Committee met at 12:00 pm in the 8th floor Conference Room of the Green Library. Dr. Miller gave the charge to the Committee. Toni Downs will be the ex-officio member. Toni distributed copies of resource materials including: relative pages from the 1998-2001 Collective Bargaining Agreement packet from Judy Blucker on BOR-UFF Interpretations Librarian Merit Performance Review from 1985 promotion criteria for assistant, associate and university librarian form for Annual Librarian Assignment Report form for I & R Librarian Performance Appraisal Elaine agreed to Chair the committee. The Committee will collect forms for job assignment, evaluation, and merit pay increases from the SUS libraries and from some schools within FIU. The following SUS assignments were made: Doug FAMU Elaine FAU John CF Mirtha SF Nancy NF, WF Patty UF, FGC Valerie FSU Committee members will review these materials for discussion at the next meeting. There was a general consensus on the following issues: Job assignment forms should reflect percentages of time for assigned responsibilities Consistency in job assignment forms would be a goal in the review process. Forms for evaluation and merit would be merged to create one document. Self goal-setting and review, in consultation with the supervisor, would remain an aspect of evaluation Evaluation forms for each rank, would be established.
