What is DCLA?
An active professional organization composed of librarians and others interested in librarianship
An association of individuals committed to providing bibliographic and information services in Miami-Dade County
A group of over 100 individuals from South Florida
What are DCLA Goals?
To promote general library interests and services in Miami-Dade County
To foster collegial relationships among librarians and those interested in library issues
To cooperate with regional and national organizations interested in the promotion of library affairs
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and discussions of issues affecting libraries
What does DCLA do?
DCLA holds three programs a year to address issues affecting librarians and libraries
DCLA conducts an annual workshop on current trends/future developments in librarianship
Provides opportunities to exchange ideas
Publishes quarterly newsletter devoted to the discussion of library news and topics
Holds Annual Spring Luncheon to address Association issues and hold biennial elections.
What are the Benefits of DCLA?

Types of membership
Individual: any person employed in a library or with an interest in Miami-Dade County Libraries and librarianship.
Dues: $15.00

Institutional:any library or library designee of its staff. The membership lies with the institution rather than with the person, and designee may change as staff changes.
Dues: $20.00 per designated member
