The
Information Technology Center (ITC) will create a Website
for any department within the Division of Student Affairs
upon request. ITC will design the site based on the Department's
role and preference.
Creating
a Website is a very time-consuming activity. As a result,
departments are usually required to exercise a great deal
of patience while the construction of the site is taking
place. Adding to the delay is the fact that ITC is always
working on a number of other Websites at the time that the
initial request is made.
Procedures
to get your Department's website done
-
To have a Website created, a department (Division of Student
Affairs only) initiates the action by contacting ITC and
making the request.
- ITC's
staff will meet with representatives of the Department
to determine what the Department would like to have displayed
on the Website.
- The
Department should have a fairly good idea what it would
like to have displayed on the Website.
- Based
on the content revealed by the Department, ITC will give
an estimated start date and end date for the project.
- ITC
and the requesting Department will agree on dates by which
the Department should submit:
- Content
(preferably in .html file format)
- Photographs
(either on paper or in file format)
- Forms
to be submitted electronically.
- The
menu items for the Home Page and subsequent pages.
- ITC
will prepare at least one HomePage for the Dept's review.
Once the Department has agreed on the appearance of the
HomePage, inclusion of the content will then commence.
- ITC
and the Department will schedule additional meetings as
required to review the site.
- When
all of the content has been included, there will be a
final review and then all documents are transferred to
the Dept's official Website location.
- ITC
will store the files from the old Website on a disk and
return the disk to the Dept.
- Once
the Website is in its correct display location, ITC will
correct flaws for the seven days.
- The
Department then becomes responsible for maintaining the
Website.
