Ray is currently a faculty member in Environmental Studies at FIU. His teaching and research interests center around the enviro, social, and power dimensions of sustainable development (SD). In particular, he has analyzed national and international policies and programs that have been offered in the name of SD. He has published in the areas of environmental policy, energy policy, and environmental justice.
Ray received his doctorate from the University of Delaware’s Center
for Energy and Environmental Policy concentrating in the areas of technology,
the environment and society and SD. He also holds an MA in Policy
Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Economics and Political
Science from UD. His previous positions include serving as a visiting assistant
professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology and a brief stint working
in conjunction with President Clinton’s Council on SD.
