Chockalingam Viswesvaran
Associate Professor & Director of Graduate Programs in Psychology

Ph.D., University of Iowa

Dr. Viswesvaran conducts research on personnel selection, performance appraisal, and personality assessments in the workplace.  He employs meta-analytic methods and also investigates related methodological issues in research.  Dr. Viswesvaran teaches personnel psychology, personnel selection, training, psychological assessment, as well as proseminars in industrial-organizational psychology.  Dr. Viswesvaran has served on the editorial boards of Personnel Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Educational and Psychological Measurement, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, and Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Viswesvaran is a fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) as well as a fellow of Divisions 5 (measurement) and 14 (Industrial-Organizational Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Leslie DeChurch

Dr. DeChurch's research examines a variety of issues related to the successful use of team-based work arrangements; some topics include: leading teams, managing team conflict, and training teamwork skills. Much of Dr. DeChurch's research is conducted in the Team Effectiveness And Management Simulations (TEAMS) research lab at FIU.  Her work has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Leadership Quarterly, and the International Journal of Conflict Management. Dr. DeChurch teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in team effectiveness, organizational psychology, and research methods, and graduate courses in industrial psychology and organizational training. Dr. DeChurch is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Academy of Management (AOM).

Nathan Hiller
Assistant Professor

Pennsylvania State University

Professor Hiller's research examines a variety of issues including: new approaches to leadership, the role of self concept in employees and top executive functioning, developing “non-fakeable” measures of self concept, and team and organizational effectiveness. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial psychology, leadership, and organizational psychology. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Academy of Management (AOM).

Christian Resick
Assistant Professor

Ph.D., 2004, Wayne State University

Dr. Resick’s research focuses on how people interact with and influence various aspects of their work environment, including cultures, climates, leaders, teammates, and co-workers, along with the implications for various aspects of organizational behavior.  He is currently working on research that examines the reciprocal influences between leaders and organizational cultures/climates with a particular focus on the link between leadership and organizational ethics.  His research also examines the consequences of person-environment fit for both individuals and organizations, and the relationship between team composition and team functioning.  Dr. Resick teaches courses in organizational psychology and social psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Previously, he spent several years working as a consultant specializing in the design of employee performance and reward programs, and has worked with organizations across a variety of industries.  He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Academy of Management, and American Psychological Association.
