Undergraduate
Degree Programs

In an era of globalization, knowledge of geography at all scales, and of the processes and patterns of international relations, is vitally important. The international relations department allows students to expand their understanding of both, and to specialize in either.

The INR Department also offers an internship program. You can do an internship and get university credit for it in our department. See the internship agreement form here.

Departmental majors and other students interested in international relations are invited to join the international relations club, a student-run organization that regularly sponsors events of interest to the university community.

Prospective FIU students wishing to major in international relations or geography should first apply to the university. After completing lower division requirements (generally, the first two years of coursework), students may declare their major. All students and prospective students are welcome at any time to schedule an appointment with an undergraduate advisor who will be happy to explain the Department's degree programs. For an appointment, please call 305-348-2556 or come to the International Relations Department offices on the fourth floor of the DM building (DM 432).
